The Interactive Bolt Loosening Module of BoltVibe software/App is the only engineering tool that can momentarily calculate and display whether (or not), and at what rate, a tightened threaded fastener system would loosen, when subjected to cyclic transverse vibration forces. As soon as you enter required data on system parameters, hit the CALCULATE button and in just a few seconds, a Yes or No answer would be displayed [to whether the bolt would loosen. If Yes, a calculated loosening rate would be displayed in Newtons per cycle. The number of cycles till the complete loss of joint clamp load would be equal to the initial bolt tension (N) divided by that loosening rate. BoltVibe users can go back to the Input screen and change some (or all) of system parameters (such as the Bearing friction coefficient, thread pitch, bolt preload, etc.) and hit the CALCULATE button again to review the loosening performance results; that iterative change of system parameters may be repeated, until vibration loosening has been completely eliminated. Whether at your work desk or at the airport waiting for your plane to arrive/take off or even in route (with WiFi connection), BoltVibe can instantly become your design and research tool. You can conduct real time studies on bolt loosening for apple-to-apple comparison of the effect of various fastener coatings, preload level, bolt size, thread pitch, and determine the right combination of design variables that completely prevent vibration-induced loosening: all within seconds from hitting the CALCULATE button.
Note that Lite version is intended to show the effectiveness of boltvibe full version , thus it only allows you to change the Initial Tension (% of proof load) parameter. we encourage you to download the full version for practical use.
